HTML 5 is the future of web development and there are many other Melbourne companies who still haven't switched over the to the superior markup. I'm proud to say that I was one of the first developers in Melbourne to start coding in HTML 5 and this is used in each and every website that I build.
There are a number of reasons why Melbourne companies are slow to take up new technologies and one of them is staff. Web development companies tend to have a mix of experienced and inexperienced staff and when creating websites they tend to create them based on the lowest common denominator. What I mean by this is that all staff members need to know how to create each aspect of a website. HTML 5, is a superior coding language and all staff members need to be trained in using if before the company can.
The second reason why other companies do not use the HTML 5 is because they are slow to change their procedures. When you have too many employees and each one works by procedures and structures, it means changing any parts of the website build incurs costs as each staff member needs to be trained in the new way of doing things. Generally a lot of Melbourne website companies do not have the time and money for this and are always producing inferior products.
If your wanting a new website ask each company if they code in HTML 5. Most will say no and others may say it is because it has not been finalised. This is an incorrect statement and all website developers should be using the markup language to ensure better accessibility, better markup, cheaper to run, smaller files, faster downloads and a more future proof site.
